It goes over various ways to enjoy a trip without breaking the bank. Also some ways to get discounts and such. There are a few spelling and grammar issues but not so many that it is unreadable. All in all a good place to start.

Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze in the many wonderful places this book recommends, except for the naked cowboy who plays the guitar in Times Square. The book was an enjoyable read and informative in the planning of my trip, and I also learned a bit of history about New York that I've long since forgotten.

Bossier City sprung up around cotton fields, railroads, steamboats, and factories as the little town across from Shreveport. Today, the city thrives as the fastest growing in Louisiana. The tight-knit community of citizens who have called Bossier City home for several generations has grown to include an influx of newer transplants and Air Force personnel. Old Bossier remains the heart of the city, and its established families and businesses are proud to retain the simple nature of the past. This book remembers days of community and closeness, capturing the era when people built their own houses out of materials they had, walked downtown to a diner or market, and saw the first bomber fly overhead. This collection captures 1920s architecture, hardworking residents, and downtown roots but also celebrates the emergent and progressive nature of Bossier City. Today, the arts are flourishing, the stores are busy, the Barksdale Air Force Base is the jewel of the city, and the strong community identity is continually evolving.

If someone can't even get the basics right, why bother to read the rest? To be fair, those might be the only mistakes in the book, but they're pretty glaring. I was VERY disappointed.

15 of 16 people found the following review helpful. Disappointed!! By Lillymay Black I guess I'm in the minority here, and that's ok. I really liked this book at first. I was flying through it. And than I began to really dislike Zack. He became a real jerk. It has been 4 months since the tragedy of the last book. At the beginning pages he is at a strip club trying to move on. I mean it's been 4 months, it seems he could wait a little bit longer. I hated the way he talked about the mother of his son. He new she really wanted to get married he just didn't think she was the one. Than when Kate comes in the picture I hate him all over again. The way he treats her is uncalled for. And the way she lets him treat her is even worse. I mean he basically tells her it's just sex nothing more. And even though she really cares about him she goes along with it. I wanted her to stand up for herself more. I was just a little disappointed in Zack and his story. He seemed like a giant jerk. I love this series and love this author just didn't love this book.

8 of 9 people found the following review helpful. I LOVED Kate!!! By Red25 Well, I think that Zack might just be my favorite in this awesome hockey series that Sawyer Bennett has going on! I enjoyed the heck out this fantasmically amazing book! I loved it, Loved It, LOVED IT!!!I do have to say that although I was very excited to read Zack's book, I was also a little worried about how Ms. Bennett was going to make it all work considering what happened in Garret. My doubts were for nothing, though, because everything worked out beautifully. It was totally believable and I was completely satisfied.I had heard a little about Zack before I even started this series, but it was out of context and had me thinking he might be a jerk. However, when we're first introduced to him, I couldn't believe it because he seemed like such an awesome guy. It just took finishing Garrett to understand what I had heard. Zack is actually an amazing guy! My heart broke, ached, and melted for him. It's true that he can be a stubborn, rude, not-always-smart jerk, but not all the time and I really loved him!But if you want to know who I really loved and who is my absolute favorite character out of everybody, then I'll tell you that it's Kate! The first thought that came to my mind for her was that she's absolutely adorkable! Kate is just beyond wonderful: she's patient, understanding, nerdy, kind, funny, and happy. She just wants to make people laugh and smile and she just has the biggest heart. I really connected to and positively adored her!!!Zack will make you laugh and smile, make you yell and rage, and give you all the heart feels both the good and the not-so-good ones. It's hot and beautiful and sweet. It's a wonderful book and I loved it one hundred percent!!Zack really should be read after Garrett, it's told from Zack and the Amazingly Awesome Kate's POV, and they do get their well-deserved HEA!******** I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review ********

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. OMG, this single dad stole my heart! By Beverly - Reading is Sexy Book Blog Zack is the third book in the Cold Fury Series and my favorite to date. I absolutely love books about single dads! So as sad as I was to read about Zack’s situation in Garrett, I was looking forward to seeing him find his HEA.The story begins four months after the accident that killed Gina. Zack's physical wounds have healed and he will be starting back with the Fury. His sister is helping him sort through some things and hires Kate to work as Ben’s nanny. This is not a smooth transition for anyone, but watching the story unfold hit me on so many levels.“I’m working through the guilt. Guilt that Gina died and I didn’t. Guilt she didn’t have her seat belt on and I did. Guilt I didn’t take a different route home. Guilt I didn’t get the chance to tell her one more time that I loved her before she died…”Zack is broken, damaged and lost. He never imagined his life playing out like this and is struggling with so much guilt. This is Zack’s biggest issue and sometimes he is rude or difficult, but you can see it’s more his internal struggles. He wants what’s best for Ben, but he also doesn’t want to replace Gina’s memories. He wants to be happy again, but isn’t sure he deserves it.Kate is one of the most selfless heroines I have ever read about, I loved her. She just graduated college and will be working on her masters in psychology in the fall. This allows her to understand Zack’s pain and feel an even greater level of empathy for him. I am not sure I would have been as patient with Zack, his behavior was frustrating at best, but Kate is a very special character. The story really focuses on Zack learning to live again and open up. I loved these moments with Ben and Kate. Ben added a whole other level of heart and cuteness, of course. I loved seeing him and Kate grow closer. As I said, this story is my favorite in the series. It had a ton of heart and gave me so many feels. It also had enough built in angst to keep the story moving without any unnecessary drama. The heat between Zack and Kate was off the charts. Oh and if you are a fan of sports romance, it has that too. This story was the perfect read and I highly recommend it.

By Carol Cassada Chasing Clarity tells the story of Mia, whose high-schools sweetheart Leo was killed in a tragic car accident. His death sends Mia into a reclusive state as she grieves the loss of her love. Slowly, Mia begins to move on with her life and when she's accepted to the New York Dance Academy, she jumps at the chance to pursue her dream of being a dancer. With the help of her roommate Sandy she adjusts to life in New York and catches the eye of Henry Watson. Yet, the loss of Leo still haunts her and threatens to destroy her newfound d happiness. This is an emotionally charged story, from the start when Mia's reflecting on her relationship with Leo and the dreams they had for the future, your heart breaks for her. The author does a great job of showing Mia's grief as she mourns Leo and the conflict she feels for moving on without him. At times, you'll get teary-eyed as Mia's emotions take over.I loved the support system had with her family and friends in Michigan and New York. Sandy was my favorite out of all the supporting characters. I liked how she got Mia to come out of her shell by showing her around New York. As for Henry, he was very charming and nice, you can see why women are attracted to him. I liked the bond that formed with him and Mia, there were a few moment s when I was left wondering where their relationship was headed. This is a story that is suitable for adults and teens, and if you're in the mood for an emotion-packed romance, I recommend Chasing Clarity.

When she told me she had another book coming after Closure I was so excited. Her books are really good, great characters and exciting that keeps you flipping pages and reading instead doing what I am suppose to be doing! I was given the opportunity to read Chasing Clarity before it comes out! This is a book you are going to want to read. It is YA book but I know adults will love it too. I just feel in love with the characters right away I say Mia is a favorite. All the characters are well written you fall in love with them. I wonder if there might be a book to follow to carry on from where this one left off, I can see it. Mia has been in love with the same boy since she was small. Her and Leo are the best of friends, but they both know it is more, but they are to young. Mia know in her heart she wants to be a dancer and Leo thinks she is wonderful at it and encourages her to pursue it in college. Leo wants to be a doctor only thing is Mia wants to go to New York Dance Academy which will separate them. They make plans to join up once Leo is done. But life throws a curve ball into their plans their is a terrible car accident and Leo is pinned in his car. The car is crushed! Will Leo make it out? Will their hopes and dreams come true? When the time is right, when the right person comes along to help you through your pain, to show you that life goes on and every day is precious. Mia is a loveable heroine who I could easily relate to, and I love when dancing is part of a story. It was really important to Mia, too, it helped her to focus on something when everything was so hard for her.Henry was such a sweetheart, exactly what Mia needed to find herself again.I would recommend this book to those who gone through this kind of loss in their life, and for those who want to understand the situation and help them. Even for those readers who want to read something worthy and real.

Life on the Mississippi (Annotated), by Mark Twain

Review Memoir of the steamboat era on the Mississippi River before the American Civil War by Mark Twain, published in 1883. The book begins with a brief history of the river from its discovery by Hernando de Soto in 1541. Chapters 4-22 describe Twain's career as a Mississippi steamboat pilot, the fulfillment of a childhood dream. The second half of Life on the Mississippi tells of Twain's return, many years after, to travel the river from St. Louis to New Orleans. By then the competition from railroads had made steamboats passe, in spite of improvements in navigation and boat construction. Twain sees new, large cities on the river, and records his observations on greed, gullibility, tragedy, and bad architecture. -- The Merriam-Webster Encyclopedia of Literature

From the Publisher 8 1.5-hour cassettes

From the Back Cover Part travel book, part autobiography, and part social commentary, Life on the Mississippi is a memoir of the cub pilot's apprenticeship, a record of Twain's return to the river and to Hannibal as an adult, a meditation on the harsh vagaries of nature, and a study of the varied and sometimes violent activities engaged in by those who live on the river's shores.

Allen Greenbaum This book--at times disjointed, rambling, self-referential, and irreverent--is decades ahead of its time. It's an interdisciplinarian's dream as Twain takes on economics, geography, politics, ancient and contemporary history, and folklore with equal ease. Mostly though, one appreciates his knack for exaggeration, the tall tale, and the outright lie. It's a triumph of tone, as he lets you in on his wild wit, his keen observation, and his penchant for bending the truth without losing his credibility as a guide. The book's structure is also modern: He recounts his days as a paddlewheel steam boat "cub," piloting the hundreds of miles of the Mississippi before the Civil War, then, in Part 2, returns to retrace his paddleboat route. Although a few of his many digressions don't work (they sometimes sound formulaic or too detailed) most of the narrative is extremely entertaining. Twain seems caught between admiration and disdain for the "modern" age-but he also rejects over-sentimentality over the past. He writes with beauty and cynicism, verve and humor. Very highly recommended!

The attention to detail and description place you within the story. This book is actually, I believe, an autobiography of Mark Twain's (Samuel Clemmons) life as a young man piloting steamboats up and down the Mississippi River.Whether the man, Mark Twain, interests you or not, Life on the Mississippi, is an eye opening look at America in an earlier era.In my (humble) opinion this is Mark Twain's best work.

Smith Let me guess: your total exposure to Mark Twain came in high school, when you were forced to read about the antics of Huck Finn or Tom Sawyer, right? Well, now that you've reached adulthood, you should make time to read _Life on the Mississippi_. It's mandatory reading if you live in a state that borders the great river, anywhere from Minnesota down to Louisiana. It's mandatory reading if you have come to that point in life when you can suddenly appreciate American history and post-Civil War stories written by someone who lived through that time. Writing in the first half of the 1870s, Twain retraces the steps of his youth: the watery highway he knew when he trained to be a riverboat pilot nearly 20 years earlier. He speaks of how life _was_ along the river, and what life _became_. It's almost a "you can't go home again" experience for him, while the reader gets the benefit of discovering both time periods. I have two favorite parts that I share with others. Chapter IX includes a wonderful dissertation about how learning the navigational intricacies of the river caused Twain to lose the ability to see its natural beauty. And Chapter XLV includes an assessment of how the people of the North and the South reacted differently to the war experience. If I were a social studies teacher, I'd use that last passage in a unit on the reconstruction period. So put this title on your vacation reading list, and don't fret: the chapters are short and are many -- 60! -- but you can stop at any time, and the words go by fast. _Life on the Mississippi_ should make you forget all about any Twain trauma and report-writing you may have suffered as a teenager. Little Rock is a sprawling city of about 200,000 at the center of a metropolitan area of more than 500,000 people, with many residing in bedroom communities in adjoining counties. Arkansass capital city is much like the rest of Middle America with its outlying suburbs, gated communities, and shopping centers miles from the historic core. A century ago, however, Little Rock was markedly different and served a population of fewer than 50,000. The majority of citizens lived within blocks of the town center and did business downtown along rows of shops that, in many cases, dated to the late 1800s. Images of America: Lost Little Rock uses vintage photographs to reflect upon earlier times and the rich retail landscape that once filled the town. By exploring the legacies of buildings that have since been demolished, repurposed, or destroyed by fire, these images provide a sense of Little Rocks lesser-known heritage.

By Shopping Wabbit Do NOT buy it for accuracy. Buy it for the photos of old Little Rock before downtown became a GIGANTIC parking arena. Errors and confusion in the text unnecessarily keep this from being the book it should have been. If you want to read it as a story based on partial fact it is that. However, having lived there, the outright errors and confusion make it unreliable to quote as historical fact. Someone else should have proofread for accuracy before publication...or left it solely as a photograph album.

I've lived in central Arkansas my entire life and have wonderful memories of Little Rock in the 60's and early 70's. The pictures are wonderful, and I'll never again have to try to remember which was at 4th & Main and which was at 5th & Main -- Woolworth's or Walgreen's. I did note two minor errors. Worthen Bank was on the southeast corner of 4th & Main, not the northeast corner as stated on page 24. Also, Woolworth's was on the southwest corner of that same intersection, not the northwest corner as stated on page 29. I should know because I spent a LOT of time waiting on a bus at 4th & Main. I grew up in North Little Rock. When I was a child -- 12 - 15 years old -- my mother would give me $1 on Saturday. I could ride the bus to Little Rock, buy a ticket to a movie, buy popcorn & a Coke, and catch the bus back home. I can still hear my mother say, "Jane Ellen, don't you forget that the last bus leaves 4th & Main at 8:45 and you'd better be on it!" A 12 year old girl standing on a street corner in Little Rock waiting on a bus at 8:45 at night today would be unheard of. I didn't see any mention of the Arkansas Theater on Louisiana. That place was incredible! The Center Theater was more modern, but the Arkansas was beautiful. I also saw movies at the Capitol Theater and the Heights. This is a really nice book and brought back lots of memories!

Lourdes, by Émile Zola

About the Author ?mile Zola was a French writer who is recognized as an exemplar of literary naturalism and for his contributions to the development of theatrical naturalism. Zola s best-known literary works include the twenty-volume Les Rougon-Macquart, an epic work that examined the influences of violence, alcohol and prostitution on French society through the experiences of two families, the Rougons and the Macquarts. Other remarkable works by Zola include Contes ? Ninon, Les Myst?res de Marseille, and Th?r?se Raquin.

In addition to his literary contributions, Zola played a key role in the Dreyfus Affair of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. His newspaper article J Accuse accused the highest levels of the French military and government of obstruction of justice and anti-semitism, for which he was convicted of libel in 1898. After a brief period of exile in England, Zola returned to France where he died in 1902. ?mile Zola is buried in the Panth?on alongside other esteemed literary figures Victor Hugo and Alexandre Dumas.

It is an interesting account of the medical miracles at Lourdes France where the Blessed Virgin mary appeared to a shepard girl in 1858. The author, a medical doctor visted Lourdes in 1908 and discusses many of the medical miracles that occurred there since the visitations of 1858. What stood out for me was the unshakeable faith of those who went forward to bathe in the waters of Lourdes hoping for physical and spiritual healing...

Surprising because it is written in the early 1900's, at a time when many clerics wrote in a pompous, antiquated manor. This guy indeed showed himself as a bit arrogant when he entered Lourdes, the scene of Our Lady's apparation to Bernadette. But he left truly changed.Father Benson had been an Anglican clergyman who had converted. (Folks at Lourdes kept asking him his reasons.) Benson went to Lourdes for answers and an article. As he entered the town, he looked at the unruly crowds, the cheap electric lights, the less-than-inspiring churches. It was as if he was looking down his nose at the provincial town and its unwashed humanity. It is surprising that he left us this unappetizing picture of himself, since he grew so much within a few days of his arrival.Benson spent much of his time in the piscines, where those claiming miracles went for examination. What? Yep, at Lourdes just saying you're healed doesn't make it so. Certificates are required before and after the healing and there's and usually a year's waiting period. They will not claim a miracle unless one is proved -- as many, many are.He said Mass every day, and then watched the procession each evening. This is where the Holy Eucharist (Jesus in body, soul, blood and divinity) is carried past the seriously ill. He was humbled by the fact that some were outwardly healed, but many more were healed in their souls. He said of the Virgin Mary's part in this as the same as in all of her life (continued in Heaven): she brings Jesus to the people and He chooses whom to heal. The same at Bethlehem and Cana. It's well-written, surprisingly modern and a quick read. Read it as a Christian, whatever your denomination. Read it as a record of Jesus the Healer of bodies and souls.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Great book! By K. Mitchell This book is absolutely fantastic. It is a very quick read and very worth reading. The book is an account of a English Catholic Priest's (an Anglican convert) visit to Lourdes in the early 20th Century. In the book he recounts his three day visit and the impact that he felt which changed his entire view of Marian devotion and belief in miracles. This story will leave most readers wanting to visit Lourdes themselves.

Dennison, Jr. Following close on the heels of his first, well received work of War Between the States poetry, "Private Hercules McGraw: Poems of the American Civil War", Scott Summers second volume, "The Journals of Lt. Kendal Everly: A Story of the American Civil War", spins the tale of conflict from the opposing side this time, but with equally powerful images, tracing the journey of an intellectual Yankee school teacher from the quiet countryside into the mouth of hell.Summer's masterful use of language transports the reader into places that he would not otherwise wish to go, but from which, once there, he cannot escape. It is a harrowing odyssey through the psyche of an ordinary man coming to grips with the stark reality of mental and physical devastation. It is an emotionally challenging but spellbinding and gripping read . . . one that should not be missed.

Best Ebook PDF A Tramp Across the Continent, by Charles Fletcher Lummis

Charles Fletcher Lummis (1859 – 1928) was a United States journalist and Indian rights and historic preservation activist; he is also known as a historian, photographer, ethnographer, archaeologist, poet and librarian. Whoever aspires to the adventures of "A Tramp Across the Continent" would do well first to read those of Charles F. Lummis. What is the author's ground for characterizing his tramp from Ohio to California as "joy on legs" is difficult for a reader of his hardships and hairbreadth escapes to detect. If not between the devil and the deep sea at every step, rattlesnakes, centipedes, striped skunks, prickly pears, coyotes, wildcats, and a dog companion finally going mad, served the same purpose. The tramp, however, as described in the graphic, frequently thrilling style of the traveler, is such as any one would delight to take—on paper, between covers. Every step of the way is photographed. The book commends itself especially to the youth yearning for the unfettered luxury of ranch or frontier. There is probably not one young fellow in a thousand who would have shown the nerve and persistence of Lummis in this tramp. His book has such heart in it, such simplicity and strength, it Is as good to read as any story of adventure may be. The book is full of quotable passages, and the best service one can do any reader is to refer him to the volume itself. He will not find a dull page in it. There is plenty of humor and on the whole a better or more amusing book of its sort cannot be found. It is capital reading for all, old and young. There is, of course. a great deal about hunting and fishing in the book. A typical passage from the book is as follows: "Near Magnolia a hard, mean-faced, foul-mouthed fellow met me, and before I fairly noticed him, had a cocked revolver under my nose with a demand to "give up my stuff." I was considerably worried, but a look into his eyes convinced me that he lacked what is called, in the expressive idiom of the plains, "sand." "Well," I drawled, "I haven't very much, but what there is you are welcome to," and unbuttoning my coat deliberately, as if for a pocketbook, I jerked out the big, hidden forty-four, knocked the pistol from his fist with the heavy barrel in the same motion, and gave him a turn at looking down a muzzle. A Tramp Across the Continent, by Charles Fletcher Lummis

Review "Lummis walked from Ohio to California in 1884, and in the journal he published in 1892 he calls his saga 'the simple story of joy on legs.' In a vivid style he tells of losing his way in a blizzard, setting his own broken arm in the wilderness, and other rugged adven-tures."—American West (American West)"The true value of the book is in the glimpse of what it was like to come upon, talk and travel with a wide range of Westerners, for Lummis was a born reporter who, indeed, ended his three-thousand-mile tramp by walking into the Los Angeles Daily News and starting work as city editor."—English Westerners' Tally Sheet (English Westerners' Tally Sheet)"[A] time-honored classic."—New Mexico Magazine (New Mexico Magazine)

About the Author Charles F. Lummis, who founded the Southwest Museum in Los Angeles, wrote such books as "A Tramp across the Continent," also reprinted in a Bison Book edition. Robert F. Gish is Director of Ethnic Studies and a professor of English and Ethnic Studies at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. His adventures are terrific and his self-confidence supreme and enabling of his success. He was open and accepting of all people, flamboyent, bombastic and an asset to the development of Los Angeles, its library, the Southwest Museum and the peaceful relocation of the native Americans to reservations. (He had been appointed to that task by his Harvard classmate, Teddy Roosevelt. Clean, funny and very well written!

I picked it up and thumbed through it and was immediately drawn into Lummis' explanation of the fluidness and even reverence with which the New Mexican of his time could curse all things. I read this book in one day. This true (I guess) narrative of Lummis' hike in the late 19th century westward to California has it all: Frontier adventures, bungled robberies, hunting, winter survival, humorous observations of human nature, confessions of weakness, personal examination of bigotry. Lummis' wit is liberally sprinkled throughout this book and his sarcasm isn't bitter, but sassy and refreshing. He truly came to love the people he ran across, and I can't help but imagine that the hospitality he frequently found himself receiving from others was a reflection of his worthiness of it.Highly recommended as a piece of cross-genre Americana. Lummis' prose isn't buried in the 19th century, although some aspects of his wordsmithing bear the marks of that age. This is an accessible work for the literate modern reader.

I was a bit disappointed as Lummis tends to spend a disproportionate amount of time recounting historical facts dating back to earlier Spanish eras (as an example...granted, interesting in and of themselves) but not as much time detailing his own personal adventures. There were some times in the book where he mentioned some escapade that would have been really interesting to read about, but he just summarized them in a couple of lines. I suspect this has to do with the fact that he was writing for a 19th century audience, and not a 21st Century audience. The items we find interesting about the 19th Century were of course common place at that time. By the time he wrote the book, the frontier was not as wild as it had been a couple of decades prior, and he probably wanted to explore "lesser discussed" topics. In conclusion, I wouldn't consider this a hardcore page turner, but never the less worth the read. If you like hearing first hand accounts from 19th century authors, I would highly recommend Diary of a Forty Niner by Alfred T. Jackson (Author), and Chauncey L. Canfield (editor). There is some dispute as to its accuracy, but a captivating, romantic tale of the golden days of California's Gold Rush.

Poems that speak to your heart By Booklover1111 This is a beautiful collection of poems - the kind that you won't easily find elsewhere on Amazon.  The author of this book has clearly poured her heart into each and every word that was written here.  I found myself teary eyed at certain points because of how much I related to what was said and how masterfully the author was able to convey in words the feelings I've had and still have about life, or the world, or existence!  This book is a gentle reminder that there is still beauty in life if we are willing to be still and listen inside of ourselves.

If you read the poems you can feel that the author has written them from her heart. You can feel her sadness, happiness, loneliness, anger and depression. She is very intensely in tune and connected with her emotions. Sometimes it is very hard to find the right words to express what you feel but I think the author have chosen her words screaming from her heart.

Trauma isn't good for anyone, although poets seem to thrive on it. The more traumatic an event the more inspired they are to write about it. My best guess is that it is because the process of expressing one’s feelings through writing is cathartic. So when a husband and father of three is suddenly gone, it is a boon to poetic activity. Do not be prejudicial, although Debra’s book is scattered with poems about love lost, on the whole it is a very uplifting spiritually oriented book. Since Debra speaks English, basic Hindi and Arabic, she is familiar with three of the four most popular religions on Earth. Her commitment to Christianity, and her awareness of Islam and Sanatana Dharma is apparent as she spreads her wings and blesses her readers with her smiling words. Take a moment to be entertained by the poetic musings of Debra S Mascarenhas

Among many of the poems the reader will find the best sad love poems here. Love often hurts when a heart is broken or there is loss of a loved one, and so on. Poetry can describe the pain and pleasure of love. It can express feelings of loss, whether applying after a divorce or breakup. It can also extend to describing an ongoing, unsatisfactory relationship, describing the hollow feeling one gets in times such as these. The author has clearly expressed feelings of pain and sadness, hope and longing, but also much, much more. This book is truly an experience and a joy to read.

Death came for Amanda Reynolds, but could not pry her from her home. Her spirit remained and for the next two decades, the abandoned mansion decayed, but not Amanda's room. When Katie Jarvis and her teammates enter it, they think they have found a paradise on earth. Under the guidance of their professor, world-renowned physicist Bertrand Myers, Katie, Chris, Drew, and Tess research the room's perfect environment only to learn that it defies any natural explanation. When Katie discovers that the room also affects the weather for miles around, the team delves into the house's history, only to have each of them targeted for disaster. Through it all, Katie believes that the spirit of Amanda Reynolds still inhabits the room and is using the weather in a desperate attempt to communicate something, but Katie can't decipher what or why. Bert cautions that if Amanda really possesses that kind of power, no one on earth is safe. However, when a monstrous late-season hurricane traps Bert and thousands of others on Cape Cod, Katie realizes that only she can stop Amanda before it's too late. What she does not realize, is that something is still out to stop her.

Highly Entertaining-A super Read-Great New Author By Chuck the Ham Amanda's RoomA suspense novel which melds fantasy with a few tips about real weather events. The author builds his story around a haunted room and leads the reader into leaving behind reality for thrills. The e-book was great, and the printed copy, when it comes out, is going in my personal library, autographed! The cover advertises the contents! Shivers! Makes you want to look outside your window and check the weather for storms. Have you checked the lightning rods on your rooftop lately?
