In a warm and welcoming conversational style the author takes the reader to exciting Caribbean experiences: Puerto Rico kidnap; buy the baby in Haiti; co-pilot to a sick pilot; hunkering down to a killer hurricane; Montserrat when the lid blew off; trailing the U.S. military in Grenada; burying an island character in Saba. Sounds like fun to me.

Judy and Hal are True Pioneers of the Caribbean. The chapters jumped around a bit, but, on the whole I had mental pictures of Bobby Every, other Saba friends.I wish they had mentioned starting a restaurant , Brigadoon ,on Saba.A transplanted St.Thomas friend(he grew up there ), now living in the Midwest, brought us the book to read and for me and my husband it was a quick read ,we were smiling (much needed in this society, today), through the Caribbean Adventure, with Judy and Hal in the small plane with the cats and all the furniture! We hope to see Judy and Hal in January on Saba.Joanne McCarty (please correct the spelling of my name in your records).

Hal certainly has met some unusual characters with whom he has experienced a myriad of "adventures." The incidents he relates about his time in the Caribbean are delightful (or scary as in the excellent description of being in the middle of a hurricane on Sabo). I loved the Jungle Jim story. I was laughing so hard that my husband asked what I was reading. So I ended up reading most of the Jungle Jim episode out loud to him.Well done, Hal!!Sharon Lang

By RRS Nice lite reading which is a pleasant change from the rather heavy reading I am accustomed to. Something on almost every page made me smile. In addition to brightening one's life, the stories told here should be reviewed by anyone contemplating moving to the Islands. They evidence the fact that only people with a good sense of humor and a high level of patience should think about staying longer than the average tourist. Possessing those traits might result in enjoyable and rewarding adventures.
