By KDelphi The "Let's Go!" series of travel guides is the best on the mkt., for ppl. traveling by rail, hitchhiking, etc on a shoestring budget. I also gains points for being the only guides that don't assume that 'Merkins just want to stay in, say, Florence "like Merkins"-in a McMotel-that's your Ugly American. What's the point?I went by myself, with a back sack and $800 for 6 mos.(I worked there for over and month, in a WorkCamp--DO THIS if you can! Meet ppl from all over the world! It is SO FUN ;) and had one of the best times in my life. If it was late at night, and, I had been out drinking that night and had no idea where I was going to stay (all the ppl in the bar had to go home to houseful of parents, etc)--I looked in this book and it could, very well, have saved my solitary part of the trip.. In Naples, it told me where, at 3:00 AM, to go as a single woman when Italian Navy was in port after 18 month's.Loved the ppl, the food, the beach and the "Let's Go" guides--get a life, folks

I was torn between purchasing a comprehensive Europe guide or just a few specific country guides but I'm glad that I purchased this. It had enough information to help me plan my trip and my travel days out. I perused it after buying and then read and tore out the pages I needed for my trip. The sense of humor in this book is on point; there were plenty of places where I laughed out loud reading this. The reviews that I made decisions off of were spot on in my case. Extremely glad I bought this book, thank you Let's Go!
