She is fascinated with archaeology & has investigated many sites with her husband. She plays the flute & enjoys Medieval literature. She dances wildly under full moons with Jesus wherever she goes.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Timeless, utterlyy unique poetry! By Robt O'Sullivan Schleith I so enjoy and adore this book of poems! As with all great books, it's one you will go back to again & again, whenever you need a pick-me-up or a poetic palate-cleanser. Some old favorites are included, as well as alot of new work ("House or Forest: No Difference" being my personal favorite); the contents are artfully arranged: poems about spirituality, dissent & personal loss amid a rich, almost-archival historical perspective. Although a wonderful addition to anyone's collection of contemporary authors' poetry, these poems often feel timeless - the reader momentarily unsure whether they are reading work from a bygone era, or from their own tiny place in the universe.

By Peace and Love I opened this book of poetry to find my favorite poem New Born Stars ("... heads thrown back, catching rain in our mouths"). Unfortunately, I had to revise my favorite poem to favorite poems when I read The Cowboy Way, House or Forest: No Difference, Manifesto . . . forget about a favorite. The themes and cadence of the poems are as individual as snowflakes. Turning each page a mystery, savory to my eyes, delicious to my ears, smooth, jagged, billowy to my emotions. It's as if Dixie were calling out from each word, each line, each stanza "we can dance together, there are no limits, every way is possible." I wholeheartedly recommend this book of poetry. Bonus: photos of the the author sprinkled amidst the poetry.

About the Author ?mile Zola was a French writer who is recognized as an exemplar of literary naturalism and for his contributions to the development of theatrical naturalism. Zola s best-known literary works include the twenty-volume Les Rougon-Macquart, an epic work that examined the influences of violence, alcohol and prostitution on French society through the experiences of two families, the Rougons and the Macquarts. Other remarkable works by Zola include Contes ? Ninon, Les Myst?res de Marseille, and Th?r?se Raquin.

In addition to his literary contributions, Zola played a key role in the Dreyfus Affair of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. His newspaper article J Accuse accused the highest levels of the French military and government of obstruction of justice and anti-semitism, for which he was convicted of libel in 1898. After a brief period of exile in England, Zola returned to France where he died in 1902. ?mile Zola is buried in the Panth?on alongside other esteemed literary figures Victor Hugo and Alexandre Dumas.

12 of 12 people found the following review helpful. A great last novel from a great author. By F. Orion Pozo TRUTH is Emile Zola's last novel and was published after his death. It is his longest book and deals with the transformative power of Truth, Justice, and Love. It also deals with how social change happens slowly through generational change rather than by changingthe minds of individuals. It is the story of a teacher in a small French town fighting to prove the innocence of his fellow teacher, a Jew, who is accused of killing a child. The defenders of the teacher have to fight anti-Semitism in the Catholic Church, the government, and the press. Written after Zola's return from exile in England for his part in the Dreyfus Affair, the book draws much of its plot from his experiences fighting anti-Semitism. It is a powerful work that shows how anti-Semitism was used by the different factions in 19th CenturyFrance for their own ends.This is Zola's third anti-clerical work and his strongest. The first two are LOURDES and ROME which deal with a priest's growing disillusion with his church. In TRUTH, the teacher knows that the real murderer is a Christian brother in the local Catholic school who is protected by the local priests. He has to expose the corruption in the church to prove the innocence of his friend. This plot has special relevance to Americans today who are struggling with stories of priests who molested young boys and a Catholic church that protected the priests rather than the children. In the preface written a hundred years ago, the translator states that this abuse by a cleric of a young boy "is not to be regarded as altogether exceptional" since many such crimes are hushed up by friends in the church.The structure of the novel is well thought out and is composed of four books of four chapters each. Although narrated in the third person, the book is mostly told from the point of view of the teacher. This lack of objectivity is the weakest part of the novel because we only get to see the teacher's opponents through his limited and biased view. The book is Utopian in style with Truth conquering deceit and leading to a more perfect social structure.
