More info: The Franko Map of Cozumel, which is an island just off the Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico, features a layout of Isla de Cozumel based on nautical charts and aerial photos. Cozumel's roads, Maya ruins, resorts, and other features are shown on side one. Most important is the location and detailed descriptions of scuba diving and snorkeling sites. Cozumel boasts some of the most outstanding scuba diving and snorkeling on earth. Over 100 species of fish, invertebrates, corals and sponges are depicted in full color with names for easy identification. Side 2 features zoom-ins and a Cozumel Reefs explanation and artwork. The first feature is a map of Greater San Miguel, which covers much of the west coast, from the Cozumel Country Club on the north to Chankanaab Marine National Park on the south. Chankanaab Park is also show in an enlarged detail. A detailed map of Downtown San Miguel is included. The last detail on side two is the Coral Reefs detail. In it the nature of Cozumel's walls (drop-offs), where scuba divers take a fabulous drift-dive ride on Cozumel's strong, clear currents, is described in detail. Updated 2015.

By Jane Anderson I wish I had taken the time to search for this map BEFORE I went to Cozumel, instead of finding it (in laminated form) at the airport on the way out. I bought one on the spot for the friend who took me there, then ordered this folded format one (much easier to use, a little smaller, but less durable) for myself, in anticipation of a return trip.This map clearly shows ALL the snorkeling and dive spots with information on access, dive difficulty, parking, fish you are likely to see and non-acquatic attractions of the island. It is the useful info you would get from an experience and friendly local, not the tourist bureau "It's all wonderful!" you get with the handout maps. Well worth the price!

It also has a decent map of the town and a detailed map of the area immediately around the town.Given the way diving is run in Cozumel at large, a map is useful but not essential, since you are taken around by the dive operators. Most diving is done from a boat.

By flyfisherman86 I was worried I'd get an outdated map since the Amazon page says "Release date: March 1, 2007" but I'm happy to report the map I received was made in 2013. I think this map will be very useful on our upcoming trip. The quality seems great and I'm glad it's waterproof. If I had one complaint it's that the small text on the map is printed in a color that isn't very contrasted to the background making it a little hard to read with my aging eyes. I'm sure it will be better in sunlight.

There's so much interesting history, but it'll be tough to get by without speaking some Greek! Fortunately, I purchased this book, and I feel comfortable speaking with street vendors and guides with the phrases provided. The phrases are accurate, and they're tailored to travelers. Very worth it!

The Shores of Memory, The Seas of Dream By Ralph Vaughan I live upon the shore of the Western Sea, often read novels and short stories with nautical backgrounds, and frequently dream of the sea, so it's natural for me to gravitate toward a volume that promises in its very title several dozen poems about the sea. It is a promise which is fulfilled in this collection of poems from Cale Young Rice, a poet of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, a fulfillment that is all the more surprising when you consider that Rice is a son of landlocked Kentucky. The sea, from its depths to its surface, from shore to shore, is paramount in almost every poem. In those few poems where the sea is not the center of attention, it is always at hand, sometimes a menace, often an enticement, always mysterious and romanticized. Given humanity's long relationship with the sea, it is not surprising that Rice often turns to port cities for inspiration, sometimes American and European, but more often Arabian and Oriental. The sea is filled with menace of all types, and in a few poems the menace is man made, the submarines of the Hun aggressors; in one poem, a man likens God to the bloody and heartless Kaiser when faced with the insufferable loss of his wife during a German submarine attack...an attitude Rice might have mirrored in 1943, when he committed suicide, grieving and inconsolable after the death of his own wife. Rice's poems are lyrical and rhythmic, perhaps a bit old fashioned compared to the works of the modern poets, who have abandoned such "needless" things, but they conform to my idea of the poetic form, and can be enjoyed when read aloud, unlike their modern counterparts, or considered in contemplative silence.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I know it's only $.99 ... By Michael Bailey ...but this book is not usable in its current form for me. It has no searchable table of contents or index and I very much needed that. If all you want is to read it from 0% to 100% completion and not skip around, as I need to do, then spend your $.99. I returned mine and for another $2.00 bought the Floating Wolf Quarterly edition which is perfect for an ebook and I give FIVE stars.One other note to the publishers and to Amazon. One buys a book for two reasons. One is for the content, the story or facts that it contains and for that it could be handwritten on construction paper or kleenex. But the second reason is feel, ease of use, convenience and a certain unsayable aesthetic quality. These ebook editions lack severely in the aesthetic area but are wonderful in the convenience category. So, I wish the publishers would spend a little more time perfecting the convenience areas, even in the 99 cent versions. For many these books are what people begin with when they purchase a new e-reader and can lead to bigger sales later. You guys are missing the boat by more than just a few minutes here.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. New to Whitman By C. Mclemore I read Leaves of Grass in junior high school without the benefit of practice in reading 19th century literature. I now realize how absolutely lovely and beautiful it is though my pitiful description does not do the book justice. Seeing America through such eyes as these has brought back the sheer beauty of his writing, in addition to the depth of thought.
