I enjoyed this book - the author strikes me as maybe a bit of a hippie.....he deals with some hard-hitting issues but he does so from his porch, or his fishing-spot, or the park. His views on the world are realistic and the message he is sending to the reader has got to be to go out and enjoy your life! There are so many people affected by cancer, and poverty, and sometimes we miss all the beautiful little things that are all around us. I enjoyed the visuals he creates when talking about different landscapes, and some of the characters he describes are so vivid, I think his poems act as fitting tributes.

The themes were similar throughout - the author talks about his love of motorcycles, his family, and his recent love of his two little dogs. The pieces have a natural flow to them, and the simple style draws you in and engages you to continue to explore the author's world. He even throws in his political opinions, his hopes and fears. There is something in here that everyone can relate to, and a great deal of emotion.
