About the Author Tracy Plath was born in upstate New York into a USAF family, traveling to different Air Force bases until her father's retirement when she was nine years old, spending the remainder of her childhood in tiny Bunker Hill, Indiana. Abuse as a child by a neighbor shaped much of her childhood world view, spiraling her downward into adult clinical depression, a state only furthered by a controlling and suffocating first marriage that saw the death of one child, the birth of three others, and ended in divorce. She returned to college at age 37, graduating with bachelors degrees in Anthropology and English just weeks before the finalization of her divorce. She pulled herself up from the near fatal depths of depression and poor health and finally reached a place of contentment and good health through daily walks in the Indiana countryside, creating a nest of her own in her small home with her children, the unconditional love and support of extended family and dear friends, and writing. A chance online encounter with a high school sweetheart developed through time into a deep and sustaining love, wooing each other through emails and daily Skype calls for three years while her new love worked overseas. At last, they married, blending their families together and moving together to El Paso, Texas, whose rugged beauty and history continues to inspire and shape Tracy's writing in new directions.

I experienced euphoria, twists & turns leading to dark times, brutal words that were hard to read, but only ever in a good way. The writing is brilliant, I devoured the prose, stanzas, I ate everything up & even though my hunger is satisfied I could still make room for more, you know?For anyone who has ever closed their eyes with pain, sighed with hopelessness & lived their nightmares, you need to read this book, you won't regret it.Thank you, Tracy Elizabeth Plath, for finding your voice & having the courage to share it with the world. Keep writing, stay loud.

Lines of delicious but heavy words strung together, reaching out to every and all emotion, pulling you through a rollercoaster of ups and downs. It is one ride you never want to get off. I look forward to reading more of her books
