By Voracious Reviews A brilliantly addictive, insomnia-inducing story following Ellie Jordan, a ghost trapper, who works a hazardous job investigating hauntings. Read before bedtime at your own risk!I had nightmares reading this, so yeah, don't read it before bedtime like I did!LOVED this, it was so thrilling, suspenseful and filled with amazing storytelling. Ellie Jordan is one tough ghost hunting chick and the stuff she and her partners find when investigating what they think is a straightforward haunting in an old house in Savannah, it's all beyond any terrifying nightmare. But these guys are pros; they have gadgets, traps and all the tricks of the trade to aid them in this harrowing adventure, all the way to a very surprising end.Loved the descriptions of the haunted places, ghosts, people and all what they're capable of inflicting. It's downright chilling! Rich storytelling - JL Bryan definitely has a seductive way with words that I literally can't get enough of. He'll suck you right in! It's was so addicting and I didn't want it to end. I can't wait for more from JL Bryan!

I have never read anything by this author,but it sounded promising, well it delivered 100%! I am a night owl with insomnia,so while scrolling through Amazon I stumbled upon this book and paid the 99 cents. I figured if it was good,then yay for me ,and if it sucked,I was only out a dollar. So,around 2am,while my family blissfully snores down the hall,I settled in for a night of reading. I was hooked from the start! I couldn't put it down. I will openly admit to being spooked by the paranormal,and believing in it as well. Since childhood I have had my own personal experiences with spirits and the unseen. Yet,I,at 2in the morning,all alone began to read....and whether you are a believer or not, JL Bryan will make you one!!!! This book has everything you could ask for in a horror story. Family buys creepy old Georgian mansion and intends to open a B&B. Except,something doesn't want them there. The young daughter is the first to notice things,and when she told her family they,like many adults,believed it was just her nerves because of the move and the "newness" of the house. Well,pretty soon the mother begins to believe her daughter might be telling the truth. So, in step s Ellie Jordan and Stacey Talbert -ghost trappers!I don't want to say anymore and give out spoilers. I know it kept me hooked,and a couple of times my mind played tricks,which is to be expected reading a wonderful book of this genre in the pitch dark,the only light the glow from my kindle. When someone can write a book that gets you going to the point of hearing your own "bumps in the night",that is an author! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading a wonderfully spooky,suspenseful book that gets your heart racing and makes you look over your own shoulders a couple of times. In this day,it is so hard to find a good horror,anything! But,this one was for me. Thanks JL I absolutely loved it! Off to get the second one ,'Cold Shadows'. Not far into it I got the bejeezus scared out of me. So I quickly laid it down and started it the next day. I wasn't prepared for the gruesome and the scary parts. But man was this was a fantastic book. Especially now that the Halloween season is upon us. Absolutely the most perfect time to start this great read.Bryan and his words held my attention the entire time. It had me eagerly anticipating what was to come and what these crazy, spooky ghosts were up to. And I am hoping beyond hope that he has more books planned for Ellie. It definitely needs to happen.What I wasn't keen on was the lack of romance. I love me some romance. I need me some romance. And yet, this book had none. But it didn't stop me from loving it.Oh no. I was very happy in the end and couldn't have asked for a better book.A must read…a fantastic read! I look forward to more. (There better be more!) 5 Spooky Stars!
